Your profile preferences, vocabulary progress, review schedule, imported reading text and practice history are stored on your device. Rootly does not require a Rootly account. Removing the app or clearing its data can remove this local history. Export a backup from settings before clearing data.
The microphone is requested when you start speaking practice. Recordings and transcripts are used for that exercise and any practice history you save on the device. Speech recognition uses Apple’s speech services on iPhone and iPad. Where on-device recognition is unavailable, Apple may process speech on its servers according to your system permissions and Apple’s privacy policy. You can revoke microphone and speech access in iOS Settings. Browser speech recognition is handled by the browser’s speech provider.
Built-in sample audio is included in the app. For new text, Rootly downloads a speech model when needed and generates audio locally on your device. Imported reading text is not sent to the model download host for speech generation. Model downloads contact Hugging Face; saved lesson audio and the prepared model may be reused offline. Storage may be cleared by the operating system. Required open-source license notices are included in the app package and retained in our technical documentation.
Local curated meanings and translations do not need an online request. If you enable and request online translation, the text you submit and its source/target languages are sent to Google translation services. A configured web AI backend can use Google Gemini; when it is unavailable, the translation service may use Google Translate. Requests to those services also reveal connection information such as your IP address. Do not submit private or sensitive information you do not want these services to process. Rootly asks for consent before online translation and you can revoke it in the translation screen. Third-party processing follows Google’s privacy policy.
Apple handles payments, free-trial eligibility, subscription renewals, cancellations, refunds and offer-code redemption. Rootly uses Apple-verified purchase identifiers and validity dates to determine access. Rootly does not receive your payment-card details. An eligible subscription free trial renews at the price shown by Apple unless cancelled. Lifetime access is a one-time purchase.
Rootly may retrieve the public launch-offer start and end dates from kaliminnovation.com so an expired offer is no longer displayed. This request contains no learner profile, learning history or purchase identifiers. Hosting infrastructure receives ordinary connection metadata.
Support is optional. When you choose to submit the support form, your name, email address, optional phone number and message are sent securely through our Google Cloud/Firebase backend to info@kaliminnovation.com using our company email provider, Titan. The team uses these details to respond to your request, not for advertising or marketing. The server stores a delivery reference and protected hashes for duplicate prevention and rate limits; it does not store the message body in its delivery database. Hosting and email infrastructure process connection and delivery metadata. Support correspondence is kept as needed to resolve your request and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations. You may ask us to delete support correspondence by contacting the same address. If you email us directly, we receive the information you include. You can change your language, export local learning data, revoke online translation consent and microphone permissions, or remove the app to clear its local learning data. Clearing learning data does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage it in your Apple account settings. Rootly has no advertising or cross-app advertising tracking.
Apple may provide App Store and TestFlight diagnostics under your Apple settings. External pages and the linked services have their own privacy policies. For details about Apple speech and purchases, see Apple’s privacy policy.
